A 4-week online training series that provides an overview of the nature, extent and impact of tobacco use on health. It also offers a detailed exploration of counseling and support strategies that Community Health Workers and other front line staff can implement with those patients interested in tobacco cessation or quitting.
By the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Name three population health impacts of tobacco use
- Conduct a tobacco use assessment
- Conduct a 5 A intervention using motivational interviewing skills
- Create a non-pharmacological treatment plan that utilizes cessation materials

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
NEON, on rare occasions may have to cancel an event. Refunds will be offered per our stipulations below, or the registrant may choose to attend another training of the same value on another date offered. CEUs will not be awarded for sessions that do not occur.
For registration amounts greater than $100, registrants may request a full refund 2 weeks prior to the training. Within the 2 weeks before the event, 50% will be refunded. No refunds will be given upon the day of the training or afterward. For registration amounts less than $100, 50% will be refunded up to one week before the training date. After that, no refunds will be made.
