This interactive training equips Community Health Workers, Peer Counselors, and Public Health Workers, with the practical skills and knowledge needed to support individuals in quitting tobacco. The course focuses on culturally sensitive, community-based approaches to tobacco cessation, emphasizing behavior change techniques, communication strategies, and available cessation resources. Participants will learn to assess tobacco use, assess readiness to quit and apply motivational interviewing techniques, develop individualized quit plans and deliver brief interventions, connect individuals to support services, and address barriers to quitting within underserved populations.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
NEON, on rare occasions may have to cancel an event. Refunds will be offered per our stipulations below, or the registrant may choose to attend another training of the same value on another date offered. CEUs will not be awarded for sessions that do not occur or are not attended.
For registration amounts greater than $100, registrants may request a full refund 2 weeks prior to the training. Within the 2 weeks before the event, 50% will be refunded. No refunds will be given on the day of the training or afterward. For registration amounts less than $100, 50% will be refunded up to one week before the training date. No refunds will be given on the day of or after the training date.
Credit for training due to not being able to attend can be given with a notification of 1-week before the day of the training and can be used towards the next upcoming training of the same value only. Credit must be used within 2 months; no refunds will be given if the credit is not used within the timeframe.
