Trauma Informed Care Through a Culturally Centered Lens 25919

Trauma impacts individuals, families, and communities in complex ways—especially when compounded by historical and cultural adversity. This training equips frontline staff, caregivers, educators, and health and social service professionals with a culturally grounded understanding of trauma and resilience.

Participants will explore how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) show up in their communities, learn to recognize adaptive behaviors as survival responses to trauma, and deepen their ability to offer care that honors cultural identity and lived experience.

Through this interactive session, attendees will gain practical tools to identify and support resilience in the people they serve, including the use of the Wellness Wheel—a strengths-based framework that highlights natural sources of healing in individuals, families, and communities. By the end of the training, participants will be able to define resilience, understand the five key elements of culturally sensitive trauma-informed care, and apply new insights to support more healing-centered, culturally attuned practice.
