SDOH: Unequal Impacts 251030

Health is shaped by far more than biology or personal choice. Social, economic, and environmental factors—known as the social determinants of health (SDOH)—play a powerful role in influencing health outcomes and access to care.

This 3-hour online training provides a clear, practical introduction to SDOH in the U.S., exploring how factors like income, education, housing, race, and systemic inequality intersect to impact individual and community well-being.

Participants will leave able to define social determinants of health, name key examples, and explain how race, culture, and social status interact to either support or undermine health. The session also explores how cultural identity and lived experiences influence the way people are affected by inequities in SDOH. Finally, participants will learn strategies and examples of how individuals, families, organizations, communities, and governments can act to strengthen the conditions that lead to healthier lives.

Whether you’re new to the concept or looking to deepen your understanding, this training offers essential tools for anyone working to improve health equity and social justice.

Build your toolkit to address the root causes of health inequities.
